As interpreter of this communion between the earth and the sky, Abama welcomes award-winning Portuguese architectural firm Aires Mateus. Their arresting work – recipient of the Pessoa and FAD prizes, among others – is characterized by a balance of form, space, and light.

Inside, the interior design studio of Alejandro Escudero weaves the context for this vision, softening the divide between interior and exterior. The materials he chooses are simple, but grounded in their environment; they gain character and beauty with age, converting residences into a meditation on nature.
