Congratulations to Abama's Trio of Stars

Still savoring last week’s great events, we here in the Property Offices of our luxury resort in Tenerife couldn’t let any more time pass without dedicating a few lines to a trio of stars that have us accustomed to finishing up the year with a gratifying sense of pride. Just a few days ago the awards ceremony for the prestigious Michelin Guide 2017 once again confirmed our resort as an obligatory stop for gourmands visiting the island. At the head of the list, Martín Berasategui’s marvelous M.B restaurant in The Ritz-Carlton, Abama maintained its two stars thanks to its unique mix of Basque and avant-garde cuisine featuring powerful recipes and exacting presentations.

Our third star was maintained by the Japanese fusion cuisine of Kabuki, under head chef Daniel Franco and manager and sommelier Víctor Riego. Sushi, sashimi, tempura or Wagyu beef, in combination with delicious local ingredients and vegetables extracted from the fertile volcanic Canary Islands soil, are just some of the delicacies offered by this restaurant that, as our owners well know, has just expanded its space and menu in its move to the Casa Club.

Proud of having this trio of stars at the helm in our community’s kitchens, owners and residents of Abama Resort can confidently say that their homes lie in the gastronomic heart of the Canary Islands. Together with Abama’s stars, the latest Michelin Guide also maintained the star picked up in 2016 by the Japanese restaurant Kazan and introduced El Rincón de Juan Carlos into this exclusive Tenerife club. The latter, an emblematic establishment in Los Gigantes specialized in Canary Islands cuisine, now holds the fifth star on the island.

Having no less than three of the five stars bestowed upon Tenerife right here at Abama is something that makes us extremely happy. So let’s all raise our glasses and toast this trio of aces and the people whose professionalism and enthusiasm make living in our paradise even more delicious.
